Following the 2011 Call for Proposals INS, the French National Research Agency (ANR) approves 3 new research initiatives submitted by CryptoExperts and its technology partners. The upcoming projects, KISS, Lyrics and Bloc, will respectively implement the notion of Smart Cloud in mass storage smartcards, achieve user-privacy in contactless mobile services and conceive provably secure lightweight symmetric encryption for low-cost devices for a total investment of €8.37 Million. CryptoExperts is proud to welcome Atos Worldline, INRIA, Liris, ANSSI, Irisa, Modyco and Orange Labs in its network of research partners.
Thomas Baignères (CryptoExperts) will be part of the program committee of the 2011 edition of Selected Areas in Cryptography (SAC), which is one of the most appreciated workshop of the cryptographic community and held in co-operation with the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR). It has been held annually since 1994 in various Canadian locations. SAC 2011 will be held at Ryerson University, Ontario, Canada, during August 11-12, 2011. Organizers are Ali Miri (Department of Computer Science, Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada) and Serge Vaudenay (School of Computer and Communication Sciences, Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland).
CryptoExperts today moves into its new offices in the center of Paris near the Opera. After several weeks of renovations, the new site is ready to welcome the whole team in the business district of the French capital.
CryptoExperts and Comexposium engage in a partnership to secure the submission and management website of the SESAMES competition. European leader in the organisation of trade fairs and shows, Comexposium organizes every year Cartes & IDentification, a unique exhibition that gathers the smartcard industry from around the World for 3 days near Paris, as well as Cartes in Asia and Cartes in America.
CryptoExperts becomes member of AFNOR, the French national standardization body. Now onboard the GCSSI working group of experts meant to mirror the activities of ISO/IEC JTC1 SC27 and headed by Jean-Pierre Quémard (Cassidian), Dr. Pascal Paillier also becomes a member of the French delegation at ISO and will mainly contribute on international cryptography standards edited by the SC27 WG2 working group.
CryptoExperts today announces the launching of Prince, a research initiative funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR). The 3-year project will research leakage-resilient cryptographic schemes - pseudorandom number generators, digital signatures, etc. - that inherently resist side-channel cryptanalysis. With both academic (Ecole Normale Supérieure, Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin) and industrial partners (Ingenico, Gemalto, Oberthur, Tranef), the consortium also intends to discover new automated ways to securely implement standard embedded algorithms such as RSA.
